Livelihood & Economic Empowerment programme

KGSCF is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and reducing the vulnerability of households at risk of resorting to street life. Through our Socio-Economic Empowerment Programme, we engage with heads of households, providing them with opportunities to increase their incomes and improve their living conditions. Our initiatives focus on enhancing the economic prospects of vulnerable families by offering vocational training for young mothers, equipping youth with employability skills, and facilitating internships and skills development opportunities. Additionally, we prioritize improving the quality of dwellings and promoting smallholder agriculture and urban farming/kitchen gardening activities to enhance food security and nutritional support in both urban slums and rural communities. By empowering households economically and promoting self-sufficiency, we aim to create sustainable pathways out of poverty and reduce the likelihood of individuals turning to street life as a means of survival.
